Thin Film Touch Screen Distributor

A thin film touch screen distributor is a company that supplies touchscreen technology, touchscreen sensors and touch controller boards to system integrators.thin film touch screen distributor Thin film touch screen technology is used for a wide range of applications such as touch screens in smart devices, automobiles, appliances and tables.

A touch screen panel is a display screen that uses conductive layers (ITO or Indium Tin Oxide) separated by spacer dots to detect the changes in resistance between them when a finger is touched. There are many different technologies for touchscreens - projected capacitive, surface capacitive, resistive multi-touch and Glass-Film-Glass (GFG) touch screens.

When a finger is touched on a surface capacitive touch screen, the spacer dots disappear and the layers detect a change in resistance to indicate the location of the touch. This is called the touch event and the coordinates of the touch are displayed on the display screen.

For a more accurate touch location, the sensor can be fabricated on a transparent polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film, which is a common material in consumer electronics. The PET film is conductive through the introduction of a layer of ITO onto it, making it suitable for touchscreens.

NISSHA's photo etching process allows for high-positional accuracy in the fabrication of these sensors. The transparent electrodes (ITO) and the lead wiring (Cu) are patterned in one process to align the two electrodes with a fine pattern of Line / Space = 10/10 mm, which minimizes the area of the lead wire and reduces the overall size of the sensor.

We have also developed a novel touch screen fabrication method that utilizes inexpensive and flexible PET films, which are conductive through the introduction of a layer (ITO) of Indium Tin Oxide onto them. The conductive lines are then printed using a near-field electrospinning process that has a linewidth of 3-5 um, and the bridge electrodes are sintered with green laser without damaging the PET film.

In this way, a touch screen can be fabricated on a flexible PET film with a conductive area that is larger than the entire sensor area on the display. The conductive areas are insulated with an antifingerprint film (Alubskin, South Korea) to protect them from direct contact with a finger.

Depending on the application, these touch screen sensors can be manufactured in a variety of forms and can be integrated into commercial touchscreens as an interface for readers (such as for RFID tags) or they can be used as a sensor on a device itself.

Our C-touch tag (a flexible chip based on thin-film transistor technologies and commercial touchscreens) has been shown to achieve data transfer rates of up to 36 bps at a supply voltage of 2.2 V provided by an external power source or battery, enabling a new form of touch communication to touchscreens. This tag can be integrated with a thin-film battery that provides 1.5 V or can be connected to a thin-film, foil-compatible photovoltaic cell that generates 600 mV from the incident light of a smartphone display.
